2 Senior Financial Investigators

A high profile National agency requires 2 Investigation Managers for Perth and/or Adelaide.  You will be rewarded with a high degree of independence whilst performing a leadership role, leading one or more work teams undertaking criminal investigations and will be accountable for allocating and managing resources and managing the performance of the agencies employees in accordance with legislative and agency policies and instructions.

The Investigation Manager is accountable for leading, coordinating and undertaking complex or sensitive investigations that may impact on strategic or operational outcomes. They may be required to undertake projects, provide policy advice and engage in complex problem solving and issues management, and will be required to review the quality of work undertaken by others within a work group.

You will demonstrate a high level of productivity and will have an extensive understanding of the requirements, as well as the legislative, regulatory and compliance frameworks that underpin its activities, principally the Australian Government Investigation Standards (AGIS).

Duties include, but not limited to;

• Ensure criminal investigation outcomes are delivered to a high standard, and be accountable for the quality and integrity of information in accordance with records and case management policies, ensuring the accuracy of data; document outcomes and decisions

• Contribute own expertise when preparing high quality briefs of evidence for alleged beaches or offices against relevant legislation

• Review the quality of work of others within the work area and ensure investigations are completed in accordance with the Australian Government Investigation Standards (AGIS).

• Plan, organise, lead and control investigations into alleged offences against relevant legislation

• Lead, supervise and/or work collaboratively with other investigation officers and agency employees within a work area

• Build and sustain positive relationships, and liaise, negotiate and work with other areas of the business and external agencies, including as part of a joint team or task force

• Develop and maintain networks both internally and externally

• Commence negotiations with internal and external parties to achieve desired outcomes from an investigation

• Adhere to, interpret, and apply legislation, regulations and operating policies in order to determine the appropriate course of action

• Take the initiative to identify training needs and develop others within a work area

• Take appropriate action to identify the issues during an investigation and provide mitigation strategies

• Exercise a high level of influence in the work area enabling continuous improvement and innovation.

As an experienced specialist within your industry, you will possess the following skills and attributes;

• Demonstrated experience and/or qualifications relevant to the conduct of complex criminal investigations completed pursuant to the Australian Government Investigation Standards (AGIS)

• Demonstrated experience in providing technical and policy advice in relation to complex issues associated with a financial crime, or fraud, criminal investigation

• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills to present complex tax and financial investigations to a range of stakeholders

• Strong practical experience in project managing investigations colleagues within a team based work environment

• Demonstrated ability to achieve a high level of productivity to deliver results in accordance with business outcomes

• Experience in developing, and applying, an evidence matrix within the criminal law environment.
